Re: Moroc bound

I had this exact same symptom with my DR. The cam chain tensioner guide broke when I went over the bars kicking the rear wheel into the air. The cam chain then some how moved a tooth when loose. Only thing that ever went wrong with it in 15 years. Shame it was the last stage of the Welsh! I also put...

Re: KTM 690 rocker arms

Why couldn't you carry a couple of shims if you are carrying a rocker arm  My thoughts exactly , if you are capable of changing a rocker arm you should know how to shim them  You can of course carry a selection of around 8 shims usually in the range from 2.20 to 2.55 at .05 incremen...

Re: KTM 690 rocker arms

You cant carry them as a spare really as you need to re shim when you change the rocker arm. Consider it a service part £120 all in for the pair. Same price as a Michelin Dessert that only lasts 1000 miles if you are lucky. Yes I know the rocker arms should last longer but life is for the living. Th...

For a good story of an every day guy taking on the Dakar, and if you are thinking of giving a bit of financial support to a fellow rider, search para to dakar. Then one to follow come January. I have no connection the link was from another competitor.

Re: KTM 690 rear shock

Contact Chris Hockey at DR shox he can both re valve and lengthen (both ends) for a reasonable price with huge improvements. He has done my last 2 690's . The good thing is he talks things through to understand what you need then carries out the necessary changes. Highly recommended.

Re: SARN HELEN again

Which part can you not ride? I have ridden this a few times on the Taffy where you drop down to. River crossing and was looking to do the same in a few weeks, any grid reference for this would be welcome. Thanks in advance.
