TAT 2018

Post by bond_yzf »

Well with the go ahead from her indoors and the funds in place the plan is firing on all cylinders :woohoo:

I'm itching to do this by myself but wouldn't mind someone/couple of people tagging along and sharing the cost etc,

Speaking with a few shipping agents currently and rough dates will be between June/Sept 2018, will be taking 5 weeks and exact dates will be confirmd over the next coming weeks.

I'll be riding my Xt660r.

Soooooo anyone up for it ? (thumbs)

I have the TAT pencilled in for 2018 at the moment and am talking to some people who may be going for it as well, I will keep you informed of any updates.

Sgt Bilco is looking at a potential TAT trip and it may be worth a chat with him regards shipping as he does lots to the States. he will be at Adventure Bike Warehouse on Saturday (thumbs)

cheers Spud ;)

I did 50 miles of the TAT last year
Will you be doing Sam Correro's Route? Are you using gps or road book?
Are you doing the full tat or just the interesting bit (middle to West)?
It's a great adventure and I'll have to do it in full one day.....have a great trip!

Hi J I would love to do this but I recon me, health n off-road skills are not up to it,
I have been stateside with Sgt Bilco on 3 separate years trips Prudehoe / Dalton etc etc
He has done TAT and along with some others in that circle are VERY knowledgeable, well worth a contact
Nice fella too ( when he,s not ripping the piss from me   )

Not knowing what the TAT was, I've just watched a couple of YouTube vids. That looks one hell of ride, and on some more than interesting trails. Sadly not really the sort of route that's conducive to me and my overloaded 70/30 tyre'd Explorer. I look forward to reading/seeing your trip report/photos.

Likewise! I've got the bike for this, time isn't an issue but finances........how much would it cost to do the whole trail shipping my own bike? Are we talking millions or merely thousands
