I've had the Machine Mart bench for 10 years and it's been fine and robust. When it has no bike on it, it serves as a useful extra work bench. I quite like dealing with Machine Mart as they're local to me and any faulty goods are replaced/reimbursed with no hassle.

I've got the KMS one. It's Chinese but works just fine and was £264 a couple of years ago.
The wheel clamp isn't great but alternatives are cheap enough.
I'd happily recommend one but get the biggest you can fit in the garage/shed.
I can't see why paying double would be worth it unless it was in use a few times a week.

I bought the machine mart CML3 a few years ago, £329 and some of the best money I have spent .It was in their VAT free sale which is now on again so be quick if you are interested . Most second hand on e bay go for not much short of this. You don't realise the benefits until you have one then wonder what you did before.

I've got the KMS too and agree that the wheel clamp is crap. I replaced it with a front wheel chock - the type that you run the front wheel on and the bike stays upright without using the centre or side stand. I then ensure that the bike is secure with a couple of straps on to the engine bars. I have 2 bikes and one needs to be parked on the lift. I simply walk it up on the clutch and the stand does the rest.
The lift itself is excellent and it makes toutine jobs so easy.
