Original 20mm Army Ammo Boxes from EBay - £20 each

Rubbed them down with some Course Wet/Dry, re-primed and fitted to rack

Got a couple of Cheap Spray's from Halfords, Matt Black and Ford Blazer Blue (looked like a good match on the cap, bit too dark in reality). Also added some Tie Down loops to the lids (B&Q Kitchen Handles - £10)

Made up a "Z-Bracket" to fit over bottom rack bar & 4 * SWA Cable cleats on remianing sides are bolted though & fixed inside using Wingnuts/spring washers for anti-vibration.

And after a couple of hours riding they haven't fallen off...

All-in-all pretty happy with the results, not going to win any paint competitions (didn't bother rubbing down between coats and only forked out for a can of each colour/primer so barely had enough)
Obviously the main disadvantage is the weight compared to ally, but for £70 output (approx 90% Cheaper?), it's a happy compromise for me, (plus if i destroy them it won't break the bank!)
