Replacement rear wheel...

Post by dicky »

Hi,got a Boano Rally Transalp with a corroded rear rim,it's 2001 xl 650 can anyone please advise a suitable replacement? Bike is offered in the " for sale" section as is,thought I'd try to keep it in the family and offer it to you guys first before eBay etc. As people seem reluctant to buy it as it is ( why?) I will have to borrow the money and fix it but which is my best way out/ do other Honda wheels fit etc?
Many thanks for any helpful advice!

go for aftermarket wheel rims and spokes and just respoke the wheel (plenty of specialists out there), as those italian honda rims rot very quickly and you'll just waste your money buying a second hand wheel.

Thanks guys for all your input, appreciate it. Might go the Rugged Roads 18" route then, seems easiest way out. eBay link is useful but by the time import duty/ postage etc is added it's going to be £ 300....
