Hi,got a Boano Rally Transalp with a corroded rear rim,it's 2001 xl 650 can anyone please advise a suitable replacement? Bike is offered in the " for sale" section as is,thought I'd try to keep it in the family and offer it to you guys first before eBay etc. As people seem reluctant to buy it as it is ( why?) I will have to borrow the money and fix it but which is my best way out/ do other Honda wheels fit etc?
Many thanks for any helpful advice!

Re: Replacement rear wheel...
Hi dicky you tried looking for 2nd hand wheel ?? If I remember if you change to 18" wheel you need morad rim because of number of spoke holes , if you go that route Jonathan at rugged roads can supply

And you could always ask the same question here?

Re: Replacement rear wheel...
go for aftermarket wheel rims and spokes and just respoke the wheel (plenty of specialists out there), as those italian honda rims rot very quickly and you'll just waste your money buying a second hand wheel.

That depends on how much you pay for it!.V_King wrote: you'll just waste your money buying a second hand wheel.
Re: Replacement rear wheel...
Thanks guys for all your input, appreciate it. Might go the Rugged Roads 18" route then, seems easiest way out. eBay link is useful but by the time import duty/ postage etc is added it's going to be £ 300....

What he said,Rhys wrote:There is no duty to pay from Germany.
I always buy from Germany, the postage is much cheaper from there to here and ive never had a problem
Re: Replacement rear wheel...
I didn't know that, that now seems my best option, will have a look to make sure it will fit before ordering, assume they are all the same! Thanks again for your help,it's appreciated.
