Flip front

I bought an Evoline 3 recently, I think its really good, the reason I went for it was the versatility, even over other flip fronts, due to the fact that the front flips all the way round, its comfy and no louder than my Arai RX7... in the shops its up for £330, I got it for £220 at the NEC, they were going for good money at the Manchester bike show last week so hunt about and don't pay top dollar .

I used an HJC IS-Max for a while. Loved the convenience of the flip front, scratching an itchy nose at 70mph is such a relief!

But I got rid of it due to the weight of the helmet. Not sure how it specifically compares to the Multi tech, Neo Tech, Evoline etc.

I am now using a Shark S900 and really do like the helmet. So much so I bought the boss one too when she needed a new helmet. So from the point of view of Shark as a manufacturer, I do like the helmet I have. A friend rides with the Evoline 2 and he swears by it. Especially in warmer weather, with chin bar pushed right back he loves the wind cooling him down.

I am going to put my vote in for the Caberg Trip, now morphed into Duke. I have had two and they are great for the price. They have been upgraded over the years and the Duke seems to me to be well developed. Sun visor, pin lock, stays open, if wished, comfy, quietish (I wear ear plugs anyway)and keenly priced. I will buy again when I need to.

The Sharks come up small on sizes so make sure you try them all on, I'm a medium normally but got a small in the Evoline 3

I have a Roof helmet. They are great. The chin flips all of the way back over your head so the weight becomes like an open faced helmet on your head. Not forward like most.I bought it as a result of riding a lot in hot weather and it is great.

When I checked out helmets I expressed an interest in Roof helmets (specifically the Boxer), I was told by the guy in the shop that it's basically an open faced helmet with a non protective plastic chin guard. I'm not an expert so I can't say how true this is or if he was trying to steer me to a more expensive lid but it put me off. Apparently all other flip fronts have a protective chin bar.

As I said I'm no expert, just passing on what I was told.

Tried all kinds of lids.
Last yearangaed to get 2 second hand schberth lids of ebay my size and one for my wife both flip up and internal sun visors no. comms
Usually wouldnt touch a second hand lid but these are fantastic. Quite comfy vents that work and washable linings with good vision.
If you can afford one get one i dont think ill buy anything else

bargain, i would buy my mkI again for £150, and the II has better seal, proper visor ratchet, deeper sun visor

Thanks for all the info. More views on the evo mk 3 are welcome.

I have seen several sites in Germany selling them with about £100 off. What are the views about using such german websites.
