Has anyone done this, or have you heard of anyone doing it?
I waited impatiently for Triumph to do it and as we know after years waiting they didn't.
I am seriously thinking about having a go.
Comments and suggestions of what needs to be done are welcomed please.
I've already done it very successfully with a Versys, which I did to keep me occupied waiting for the Street-Adventure, and that wasn't too difficult. I suspect the Street might be a bit more of a challenge.
I wait with baited breath for all your words of wisdom guys and gals.

Triumph have already beat you to it. It's call the Tiger 800 or 800xc.....

Sorry Mark, that wasn't what huge numbers of us wanted.
OK it's a good bike in its own right, but it's not an Adventure Version of the Street Triple.

im sure there was one in the movies MI:3 or TORQUE?
it must be a great adv bike if it can do all those jumps and sand racing etc

I'll sort some tomorrow.
What I want is that exact Street engine in a smaller lighter more agile bike than the 800.
That engine, JUST as it is, is about the best engine ever made in my opinion. It's certainly the best I ever rode.
I SO NEARLY put an order down on the day it was first available for a test ride, after a 30 minute ride, even though it was completely the wrong bike for what I wanted.
Now I know what can be done after doing the Versys, I want to do it to the Street as well.

could be good, why not? they will probably have a 1200 come out in a few years, why not a 675? although its a bit close in size to the 800, they could make a much lighter bike. they add a cylinder to make a 1200, why not take one off to make a 600? a series of triumph offroaders?Mad Cow wrote:So what you want is a Tiger 675XC - could be fun!
yamaha sell plenty of the overpriced 660Z so there is still a market for smaller bikes, even if the fashion is for giant heavy over-teched white elephants at £12K a pop
