Help wanted in Derbyshire for Edinburgh Trial

The Edinburgh has attracted a superb full entry of 240 competitors and has 19 sections and two tests planned. However despite fabulous responses from the Emergency radio providers (38 volunteers) Peak Rail and Derbyshire 4x4 Response the number of other volunteers is lamentably low.



As of today only 12 of the 19 sections are secure with sufficient numbers to man them appropriately. The team believes we are currently almost 30 volunteers short overall.



There are sections/tests /controls available day and night from 8pm Friday to Noon Saturday. Shifts typically last 5 hours. Whether an old hand or a newbie we have a role you can help with, Whether alone or part of a group we can find a role for you. We have full training available on YouTube for all roles.



Many roles involve being on sections supporting the competitors and recording scores, others are indoors helping competitors with paperwork etc. others such as secret controls can be performed from the comfort of your vehicle. YOU can help us.



EVERY volunteer qualifies for FREE hot food and drink from either of our three official suppliers. EVERY volunteers receives a programme, badge, sticker and bag of sweeties! Do TWO different locations and we'll treat you to a two course meal at the Monsal Hotel instead!



The Edinburgh has run for well over a century and we'd love it to run as planned in 2025 and with your help that can happen, but we do now need to know by the end of the month if you're willing and able to support the event.
