Just the 225? I have recently imported 250 carb model--do they cover that in any way?

Greetings,

Many Yamaha parts are interchangeable between models but you need a part number. I generally look up the part on Fowler Yamaha, from whom I have had good service in the past, they have the parts list online, from there you can check availability and other models that use the same part. I needed front fork bushes, seals and gaiters which Fowlers listed as no longer available, I eventually got the bushes from T&T which has similar parts list online but they did not have the gaiters.

My original gaiters were made by Polisport but are no longer available so I contacted another established company and they recommended I try 'In Motion' who are trials orientated. The chap I spoke with, Robin, went and measured some gaiters and found a pair, specified for a Montessa and made by Ariete. Robin actual tried fitting them to similar sized parts and returned my call. Parts arrived by next day delivery.

Hope this helps.

I agree on the best approach--that is to find the correct part number and search with that--so far I have found an alternator side case gasket, an O ring for the large camshaft drive sprocket cover, a sprag clutch, starter motor and a new idle mixture screw--needless to say I'm having a bit of a "Lionel" getting it sorted, but parts are out there, especially from the US where its referred to as the XT250 only, not the Serow.
