Booster Plug !!

Post by fw750x »

Hello again i am thinking of getting one of these for my 1999 F650 Dakar Single Cylinder . Every now and again the Bike will Stall ie at Traffic lights/ Entering a Roundabout , I could have covered 5 Miles or 50 miles without a Hitch and the Bike will just stall ? The Bike will start as soon as i hit the Started button , Do these Devices work or are they Snake oil . Any info or Experence of these would be Great .Cheers Francis

My 'W' reg would occasionally stall after I used the throttle to cold start the bike, if I just pressed the start button without throttle it was fine. I suspect my Throttle Position Sensor was very borderline.

The ones I've seen for BMWs essentially fit in the temperature input line to the ECU and bias the input to make the engine appear colder than it actually is and therefore richen the mixture slightly. This gets over a lot of lean idling problems resulting from emissions homologation. They seem to work to a point--but can be be simply removed if they don't work or you wish to compare performance.
