Mike and very informative thanks for the effort, did the Applecross / Skye last year at the end of May and had sun for 4 days hope to take in a bit of your suggestions this year I,m on the south west coast so easy to get up to the good bits thanks again for the effort

Nice report and good tips there.The only thing I would add would be instead of jumping back on the A9 at Carrbridge my choice is to take the A939 Grantown-Nairn road over Dava moor as far as Cawdor and on to Inverness past Culloden moor following the "Highland Tourist Route" Only 5 miles further.
