Like some previous members I am suddenly getting 100's of email notifications for posts I am not even following ?? When I open the thread to unsubscribe as suggested it shows I am not subscribed, what has changed and how do I stop these infuriating emails ???

You've probably subscribed to a category or categories. Hence all the emails. Easy enough to set right find the common category and unsubscribe.
