Wante - Garmin Montana
I was impressed looking at LuckieGar's yesterday while we were out trail riding and having missed out on one recently just wondered if anyone has one they might sell?
cheers, Bob.

Re: Wante - Garmin Montana
I've had a 600 for a while--and its so much more than a sat nav--especially with full OS mapping on a micro SD--and I can swap to Europe city navigator when required. Still discovering the options--like the full sized dash with speed, elapsed distance/trip and so on. We are currently translating the MCC Exeter trial roadbook to a track on basecamp (using the OS mapping) so that we can run this alongside the official roadbook--at least you always know where you are even if you are "lost" off route. There is a lot more to the Montana than a simple GPS--you can even bluetooth .gpx files to each other before the start of a run. You can get a new one and then register it on line in your name and get all the updates etc FOC--which I think is worth it. You can run a charging cradle or run off AAs--and I've also bought a couple of spare batteries that I can carry charged so I'm never stuck--I like the screen on full illumination all the time which does drain the battery if not permanently charging.

My one was great, I especially like the dashboard options. My bike as KMH speedo so having a big MPH on there meant I wasn't constantly doing maths on my head.
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Re: Wante - Garmin Montana
I bought a 600 a good few years ago from the USA....€324..... ordered on a Tuesday night on line and arrived lunchtime Thursday. It was a returned item and new;my friend got one too..it's still working..see below.
The 9 icons I have on my home screen get me everything I need to know without changing screens, all whilst on the move.
It's on its last legs due to me zapping the USB port via my army Land Rover 110's weird live feed charging port, which I find out later is un-fused and direct from the battery....ho hum....
This has made a few other things go goofy but it works not too badly at present. I still use it on each ride out but with limited options.
If you want the link to the supplier in the USA just say.
I'll get another Montana I'd say, when it gives up.
:)
