Come on let's be a little inventive here. If time, money, health, fitness, motorcycle etc. were no object, what adventure would you like to take on?

One of my most fingered books is 'The Ice Master'. It's a little known tale of a Newfoundland skipper who's ship got stuck and eventually sunk in the Arctic ice flows around the turn of the century.

In essence, two years after the sinking, Captain Bob Bartlett, arrived at a settlement near the bearing straights having walked across the frozen ice and the northern coastline of Siberia. He had left all the other survivors holed up on a small island north of Siberia as he set out looking for rescue.

I would like to retrace Bob Bartletts route from that island in the Chukchi Sea to the bearing straights.

Canada & Alaska, not just strsight north bur wander the area for a few months.
Once read a ride report, couple of british guys that bought a pair of KL650 Kwackers and explored some of the old logging routes, fascinating tale.

I read a couple of years ago. It a canoe trip along the Amur river that forms the border between Russia and China for a large part of it's length. I've no idea if it would even be possible by bike, but that part of the world has some strange appeal, no idea why.

I'm gonna have to get the book out of the library and read it again I think.

It's not very original but the first ride Lois did would be good too.

I had someone approach me at Adventure Travel magazine a couple of years back who was going out to Kayak that river. Never heard from them since.

I would like to do a Gorman Kropp. Yes, I fully realise that you lesser souls will not have a clue what i'm talking about. Basically, Gorman cycled from his home in Sweden in 1996 to Everest base camp, where upon he proceded to climb to the summit of Everest and then having accomplished this then cycled all the way back to Sweden. Poor Gorman is no longer, having died after falling thirty foot off a rock face.

I would like to ride all the major Alpine trails on several different bikes to determine which is the best to use on all of them. Then do the same for all the well known routes in Africa and Asia and the US and the Far East for all the other famous routes worldwide ... may take a while but boy will I have fun

British Columbia, Yukon, Artic Circle - beautiful country and people who are NOT to be confused with Americans! A lot of it is as remote as Siberia - I have done both - and Canada wins everytime. Top of the World Highway into Dawson City is "top of the world" for me.
The Dempster Highway to Inuvik above the Arctic Circle is every bit as good as the Dalton so no need to go to the USA at all!
You will be going in summer unless you can hack -40C.
Vancouver, Fort Nelson, Whitehorse, Dawson City, Inuvik would be a great route and you could come back via Fairbanks and Anchorage and do the Dalton as well!
Dawson would be a great base to ride from (centre of the Gold Rush in the 19th century when the population hit 60,000 - today 1,500!) assuming you got out of the Westminster bar which is one of the most "dangerous" drinking establishments I have been in!!
