Just a respray needed and it's done B)
It's been an epic but the last big job is the respray then after that it's time to bung some super unleaded in it and fire it up.
It's had a full on ground up restoration with the engine being rebuilt along with all the running parts so shouldn't need anything doing for a while but the big decision is whether to sell it and do something else or hang onto it and use it on bright sunny days.
I've got to admit that I bought it about 60% finished but that didn't include sorting out the electrics and fuelling which has been a full on nightmare at times. Luckily the expensive parts had been done but even then it's not been a cheap project and if I costed my hours at my normal rate it'd owe me a fortune :pinch:
Bastard! Why isn't there a preview page? Just turn your screens over or stand on your head to look at the photo.

Well, you have done all the hard work and it's looking fine. Now enjoy it. Ride it when you want something a bit different, if you get bored with it flog it. It won't be going down in value will it. (thumbs)
Re: The money pit known as a Commando
That's the plan. It's never going to go down in value and once everything is finished it'll have cost me about the same as the depreciation on my Multistrada over the 2 years I've owned it :pinch:daytona-supersport wrote:Well, you have done all the hard work and it's looking fine. The problem now is that I've got the two of the bikes I wanted when I was a teenager (the other one is the H2 Kawasaki) and the only other one I really wanted was a Yam TZ750 and getting one of those then converting it to road use is nothing short of lunacy. I've never been the sharpest knife in the drawer and you can get them in the States so who knows?
Re: The money pit known as a Commando
looks great, obvious some work has gone into it... they are still great to ride, smooth out over 3k rpm nicely.....notice it has the disc brake, what year is it....
had a spin on this one, stood in a garage for 20 years.....ive totally lost the ability to kickstart a big twin...a bit scared of it if i'm honest ...
