I'm going over to Normandy with the Military Vehicle Trust in my 1942 Dodge command car,
Should be a great event, I went for the 65 anniversary it blew me away !
Won't be as many vets this year, over there for about 12 days.

And few of us are going over on the 31st and staying in Bayux in a lovely campsite.
Will be there for the 6th in Arromanche.
Can't wait.

Make sure you lock up your bikes over there! We were in Lisieux Easter weekend and had 5 out of 9 of our bikes stolen from beside our tents! It was a locked campsite but had an over flow field that had a side gate in it. Both gates were locked, both chains were cut. Lock them to each other and to something else.
It's a huge problem in France.

Enjoy your stay though as it's a beautiful part of the world. The new visitor's centre with the film on 9 screens in Arromanches was well worth a visit (thumbs)

I'm going for the full event with a load of old Army mates.

I went on my own for the 60th and it was an incredibly emotional event.

I camped in the middle of a field having arrived at 2am. I was in my bivvy bag beside the bike and was woken up by a police helicopter circling around me. Doh!

Cheers chaps. I'll be winging it, lastmin.com style. Hopefully I'll be able to roll up at a campsite and get a space. Would I be right in thinking that it'll be pretty rammed everywhere??
