Boil Rally ride outs
It's 6 weeks to the boil and I'm simmering away nicely. It's been mentioned on another thread some time back but I think its time to talk ride outs. i like the thought of 50 plus adventure bikes in convoy.
So:
Where - a few national parks perhaps?
When - Saturday
Start time - 9am?

Sounds good to me! It will give Maria time to clean the loo's, don't tell her though.
Re: Boil Rally ride outs
me want rideouts, but they will have to be roady ones as im on touring tyres and a bike the size of battlestar galactica.
can we do a "passes" ride, as we are so near some famous ones like wrynose and hard knott? there must be loads of fun roads

Passes and National Parks sounds good. I'll be on road tyres and have a pillion so it's tarmac for me too.davsato wrote:me want rideouts, but they will have to be roady ones as im on touring tyres and a bike the size of battlestar galactica.

I will be on road type rides as well.
Maybe there could be 2 ride outs .
1 for roads and passes etc
1 for off road sections ,,
Just an idea , as I have no idea whats what down there..

Re: Boil Rally ride outs
An on and an off-road ride out has been mooted. Barnman and Minkyhead were out recently and I think they may have some excellent routes in mind. I'd also like to check out some lanes around Paul that I've found on the Trailwise site. Just need to make sure that they are Tourance level rides. That may happen this weekend if the weather holds.
So fifty bikes is gonna mean some big ride outs. What does everyone think would be a suitable sized group that won't cause mothers to drag there children inside and shops to lock their doors? hmy:

I was under the impression that the ride outs would take in 2 nature rally sites?
I seem to remember Paul saying that he's pretty much central between two parks?
In any event all I want to see is a mountain or two and I'll be in clover, so much better than the flatlands of East Anglia or the urban sprawl of London or Coventry.
I want to wonder lonely as a cloud..............

Hawes and Windermere are either side of Paul and wrynose and Hardknott are both on the Windermere side. There's no reason why Hawes couldn't be done on day 2 if day one runs out of time.
