Bike Cover. Which one?

Post by SteveWat »

Hello everyone, we’re moving house and it looks like my Honda 750 Transalp and Vespa 300GTS will be spending at least the first half of winter outside until I can sort out a suitable garage.
Can someone recommend me a suitable cover for them?
Something the correct size and durable. I don’t want a plastic storage bunker-type thing or a tent-type thing.
Neither do I want something flimsy and cheap.
Thanks!

You don't leave many options. :D
It would be tight but maybe aluminium garden shed would work? If you go that route check the moisture regularly.

I've used an Oxford Stormex bike cover, comes in different sizes and works well.

Yes, the Oxford Stormex, was the best of the Oxford ones I used. It is physically quite heavy and awkward to put on, but is waterproof, . The Rainex is not, but the medium weight one aquatex not too bad.
If I was using the bike a lot, the cheap £10 from ebay was OK, and good for touring, as its light. Probably dearer nowadays.
Recently I bought a reasonable looking one .. and when it arrived I was impressed with its quality and feel, being heavier than I expected.

I'll edit this when I find it's name. ..... XLMOTO
but not tried it yet.

PS .. I have a bike hut (tent type) .. they is brilliant.
