Amazing video of two Teneres trail riding an Australia devastated by global warming.
Dry, dust, just the sad remains of a few burned trees...Greta was right, I'm telling ya!

Re: The Yamaha Tenere thread
Does anyone if Yamaha are dropping the option packs for the Tenere?
I have a test ride on one Monday and was on the website today (configurator) and the option to select the adventure or rally packs is missing and they are no longer listed on the website?

Re: The Yamaha Tenere thread
I think automotive supply chains have been hit worldwide (except Toyota:first to go JIT and first to go from JIT to JIC; Just in Time to Just in Case) with component and material shortages so complex choices are probably not top of the priority list for manufacturers .
The T700 has been out for a while now, so you could probably take the cost of one of those option packs and get more and better equipment on the aftermarket for less.
The prices charged for things like 'factory -fit' (actually dealer-fitted') heated grips and protective parts never cease to amaze me. You can nearly always get more for less in the aftermarket.

Re: The Yamaha Tenere thread
The fuel gauge on my T7 is pretty rubbish, going from full (5 bars) to time to refuel (1 bar) in not many miles. 5 bars to around 85 miles, 1 bar by 135 miles. The last time I filled up, at 1 bar, it took 10 litres when tank capacity is 16.
Give me an old-school fuel tap with on/reserve/off any day!
Aside from that, it's still an excellent bike for what I need it for.

Still happy with mine after a great three days riding the TET through the Lakes/North Pennine’s and North Yorkshire.
Knackered now though. It’s a big lump to pick up with full camping/cooking gear on board.

I'm full of admiration for you, CP - i guess you have the skills to handle a big lump like the T7 on proper off-road stuff, and I wish I did! More than that, it's the picking-up which would get to me, I'd imagine it must be around 230kg with fuel, camping gear etc. Gravel/fire tracks are great for me, where the chances of an off are minimal, but for the gnarly stuff I'll have to turn to my old DRZ400 which I can drop as much as I want

I wonder if your guage is faulty ? Mine works fine, it's on one bar now with 167 miles on it since I fuelled up earlier today.mark vb wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 12:19 am The fuel gauge on my T7 is pretty rubbish, going from full (5 bars) to time to refuel (1 bar) in not many miles. 5 bars to around 85 miles, 1 bar by 135 miles. Re: The Yamaha Tenere thread
Just a heads-up guys. I washed my bike on Monday and noticed this, it's at the front of the tank near the headstock. I have informed the dealer and will push for a new tank.

I though I better check mine after seeing your photo.
2 years old and 5250 miles.
Oddly yours is white on the underside whereas mine is black even though it’s a white bike.
