Fosse Way - UK tet

So this weekend, I ventured back down the the fosse way on the crf, thoroughly enjoyed my time there, especially the southern part which was almost single track. My question, does anyone know of any more trails like this in the UK/ wales? Or any closer to home in the midlands?

I did parts of the Fosse way back in July and found it relatively boring. Some sections were a bit of fun.
I did have a gpx of the route,bthat then took you down towards Wilton and that was a lot more technical and fun.

Agreed, the first part is relatively tame, after the water crossing things got a bit more interesting. The little downhill/ uphill part. Do you still have the GPX ?

I think I deleted it as I was sure I would never do that route again.

I did mean to do a different route incorporating the good bits. .

If you have a bit of search on here for Fosse way or gpx files I am pretty sure I got it off of here.

I quite enjoy it from the M4 up to the airfield. Sure, it’s not technical, but sometimes it can be a lovely quiet run. I’ve seen buzzards, and kingfishers at the river crossing.

If you do happen to follow the routes in the most recent mag , the feature called UK Greenlanes you won't be following the Fosseway in the section '86 Kemble to Sapperton' as that is not the route of the Fosseway at all.

That route forms part of the Macmillian Way and I believe was covered previously in '20' Macmillan Way. The true route of the Fosseway goes across Kemble Airfield (which you obviously can't ride anymore) then follows the A433 into Cirencester and becomes the A429 north of Cirencester.
