Re: 4 Hours of my life wasted
The guy who ran the course I went on said "you do not need to tell your insurance company you have been on the course" .

Your correct stewie is shocking but hgv drivers have had it easy with load security etc, now thats all changing you need to be hard faced and not rush, chexk eveeything and if your given a hard time at work report them to the local traffic commisioners... They take a zero tollerance now so folks be very caredull... Van and car drivers etc are next... The roads will soon be very empty lol..
Re: 4 Hours of my life wasted
There seems to be a current trend of insurance companies asking if you’ve attended a SAC, Some will penalise you by raising your premium and some don’t.
The irony is that SAC ‘s are self funding so the more people who go on these, the more money the camera partnerships have to buy equipment, so in theory if people chose to take the fine/points rather than attending a SAC, the camera partnerships would be starved of money and cease to exist

There's a couple of tractor units speeding through Barrowford regularly, they seem to be using them as commercial vehicles. Nothing to do with agricultural work.

Re: 4 Hours of my life wasted
Ok a bit off topic but there seems to be plenty of truckers on this thread. My wife had a very narrow escape this week on the M40 when a massive sheet of ice flew off the top of a truck and took off flipping through the air. My wife hit the brakes hard and it crashed down in front of her. She reckons it would have totalled the car. So my question, is this not something that should be checked before joining motorway when leaving services, presumably after overnight stop ?

Correct John.. We and all other road users are responisble to clean ice, snow fallen branckes etc off our roofs or flat beds... Take their reg number and report to police..
A Biffa lorry once lost its side spolier and took out my wifes windsscreen, bonnet and one side of car, they denied it... She had thw plastic and dash cam footage so they paid up... Blamed driver but he had done a defect note and garage didnt act...
