Re: Battery Purchase License
On a positive note we are on page 4 and nobody has thrown their electrons out of the cell, refreshing to see a thread not being charged with negative comments.
Open your eyes and you see what is in front of you, open your mind and you see a bigger picture but open your heart and you see a whole new World.

Re: Battery Purchase License
Thanks for that Steve,I was wanting some proper information on it.My battery's at least 5 years old so I think I'll just buy one now and take my chances that I don't have a police raid on my shed in November.Cone wrote: ↑Fri Jun 15, 2018 10:05 pmSteve you ruined it!!!steve the grease wrote: ↑Fri Jun 15, 2018 7:56 pm From 1 July it will be become illegal for a member of the public to purchase a motorcycle battery that is supplied with a separate acid pack without them holding an Explosives Precursors and Poisons (EPP) licence.
An EPP licence is not required for batteries supplied with the acid already inside. These are exempt as a filled battery is classified as “specific object”.
The new legislation means sulphuric acid has been reclassified as a regulated substance and members of the public wishing to acquire, possess or use sulphuric acid above a 15% concentration will need an EPP licence to do so.
From 1 November 2018 it will become an offence to possess or use sulphuric acid at concentrations of over 15%, without a valid EPP licence. This includes bottles of battery electrolyte that have not yet been put into a motorcycle battery.
If I had a business selling batteries on Ebay I think I would be worried.
