Battery in Wales.

Post by TomBoyNI »

I know it is late but hopefull some of the Welsh peeps in here may still be awake and be able to offer some advice.

My battery on my R1200GSA 2010 is on the way out and I'm going to go pick one up tomorrow (hopefully). I am currently in Aberdare and have narrowed it down to either Riders BMW or Thunder Road. Anyone any recommendations? Or alternatives in case I have missed a good guy on google?

Cheers (thumbs)

Hi
Try M&P in Gorseinon, Swansea, SA4 9HN. 01792 224452
I have no affiliation to them but I've always found them to be very helpful.

hiya Tom .. I guess your best bet? is Riders of Cardiff, CF11 8AB,
02920 233559
, open mon to fri 9.00 till 6.00.
as they are BMW dealers, and there is a chance they got a battery in stock? tho I have never dealt with them or BMW.

Riders of Bristol are 0117 9588777 .. Bridgewater are 01278 457652.

................................................................... ............................................

Thunderroad are not BMW dealers, I think, but they may have a similar battery?
Bridgend 01656 661131, Cwmbran 01633 868888, Gloucester 01452 313131. All very helpful.

M and P are not bmw dealers either, I think, but they got loads and loads of stuff, (that may suit)? 01792 224430. As dirtmonkey says, they are very helpful.

(other dealers near are South Wales Superbikes of Newport (Yamaha), JT's of Bridgend (Yamaha), .. )
...................................................................

at Abercynon there is Sportouring, a small accessories outlet that is `posh` and also deals with bmw accessories I believe. 01443 742421 and 01443 740202. I guess they would need to order in too.

....................................................................
workshops

.. very near Aberdare, at Aberaman, is Celtic Motorcycles, a little bike shop, helpful, but you would probably have to order. 01685 870070.

.. In Treochy, Rhondda, is Baz Bikes, 01443 776060 .. great guy for servicing or advice.

....................................................................

in Merthyr is Marsh MX .. but I would not recommend their parts dept .. but they are near and they may have knowledge of batteries suitable?
....................................................................

o.. hang about ffs .. Halfords do a yuasa YTZ14S high performance m/c battery for £80. order online. for r1200 gs 2008 on, Aberdare Store .. next day delivery for £5 (not click and collect or deliver to store) .. if you need an address let me know.

Mail order or for eg. ebay is good..normally cheaper, until something's wrong,or you need to return items? I tend to buy heavyish items local, and try and barter a comparable price?
