That's a great deal all right - if you want the de luxe thing - but the Andalusia has single rooms from €25 and double/triple options that work to better for the socially disposed. So it's a no brainer for me ...

Yes, two. But I'm not sure if they're open and they're quite expensive - in the 'Holiday Camp' category that I normally avoid. So I think the few extra buck for a cheap hotel are worth it for me.

Besides, Ronda is in a mountainous location and can be very cold and although it's on the 'dry' side of the Sierra de Grazalema* that doesn't mean it's a guarantee of good weather ...

Probably the evening of the 20th....then ride to Algeciras for a lunchtime sailing the next day :)

With experience, for long rides,if my GPS throws up 7hrs for a ride I will always add a 'minimum' of two hours extra to allow for reality. Three hours makes it easier. Throughout a whole day four 15min stops for fuel/toilet/smoking makes up one of those hours. One hour max for getting kit off for lunch and a proper rest is 45mins-1 hour minimum. So there's two hours easliy. So if three is factored in then you can't really go wrong. Add more for very twisty routes where your average speed will be very much slower.

If I ride from my house to Manzanares Esp. to stay, this is roughly a GPS 710kms and an 8 hour autoroute ride. When I leave my house at 0800hrs I'm usually there by 1800hrs or close to 1900hrs. One hour back if I leave at 0700hrs.

From Manzanares to Algeciras will be another autoroute GPS 487kms and 5 hours ish. Leaving at 0800hrs as,it's a shorter day, usually gets me to the port for about 1400hrs max with a couple of fuel stops.

Once in Maroc it jumps back one hour to UK time which helps for onward travel.

All this to say if you've a 12 hour GPS day and pushing it,it could stretch out into 14-15 hour day, especially if its inclement.

Just saying :)

OK....no problem....it's on. (thumbs) (thumbs)

(If anything goes goofy or you want to take a scenic ride over the mountains/autoroute to here for late afternoon on the 19th that's cool....I'd say by the time you get off the boat and hit tarmac it'll be 1330 hrs max....it starts to get dark at about 1700hrs in October for info....you know where my village is...we should be leaving at about 0700-0800hrs on the 20th.....it's your call)

:)

Ha ha, I'll see you there then - just booked! (thumbs)

Booking.com claim that uit was the last room but don't worry - everyone limits availability as they pay 15% commission ...

Meanwhile I'll be trundling down in a leisurely fashion, dropping in on a lovely lady at Lanjarón, outside Granada, who I haven't actually met as yet - ships passing in the night, etc. - but is a fellow inmate if the husky owning community, so we'll be sitting around in a teepee no doubt going 'Oooooooowwwww!' until it feels better ...
