Well said... there are a few folk on this forum who post mis-information against the TRF..... a bunch of t**ts if you ask me. if you're not a member or not going to renew then SHUT UProdyorkabr wrote:I am not in the TRF. from an outsiders perspective, I believe they have made great contributions to keeping open byways etc. This infighting is not helpful though & causes me concern, while no doubt offering ammunition for the ramblers etc.
The fact that 2 of the directors have been in business together previously is in no way a crime or something to be viewed with suspicion. If the information you pass forward (names & accusation) is made public- it is certainly not libellous- if it is true. If it is not, then you should not post it.
If you do not post the names-some people will assume, wrongly or rightly you are doubtful of the accuracy.

Actually even if you're not going to renew you still have the right to have your say/vote at the AGM in January due to the 3 month 'grace period' so feel free not to shut upWell said... there are a few folk on this forum who post mis-information against the TRF..... a bunch of t**ts if you ask me. if you're not a member or not going to renew then SHUT UP

Johnny..good question...from an outsiders perspective(without wishing to derail this thread in any way)..johnnyboxer wrote:So why don't you become a member ?rodyorkabr wrote:I am not in the TRF. from an outsiders perspective, I believe they have made great contributions to keeping open byways etc.
I believe the TRF are fundamentally essential- without which we will have fewer lanes to collectively ride.
I believe that although NOT a charity- they should be regarded as such...a good cause..a fighting fund.
However;I know a number of green laners whom have broken away, after reporting years of either infighting/face not fitting etc.
over the years it keeps on cropping up- this thread is a testament to what I observe.
I am too long in the tooth to have to jump through hoops and prove myself worthy of being accepted- I ride for pleasure and can find the lawful routes without first having to learn the handshake etc
Is there a way of supporting the TRF on a lesser package ie bronze, silver or gold?
This might encourage people to support without feeling that their subscription is effectively condoning the current modus operandi.
If I have hijacked the thread, I apologise- it is not my intention- I did feel it wrong to PM Jonny...perhaps others non TRF members might chime in with their concerns...so they might be addressed and so some good can evolve from the current infighting.

As a former TRF member and a committee member of a breakaway (non TRF) group it is very much a case of 'same shit/different year'. Local groups are great but top level political infighting has always been the turn off for members, many of whom are now non members.
Open your eyes and you see what is in front of you, open your mind and you see a bigger picture but open your heart and you see a whole new World.
Re: TRF becomming Extinct?
It a very interesting reading through the posts ,it seem's a lot of well intentioned good people have differing opinions on how things should be done which is completely understandable as we have different thoughts
You guys care about what's going on and want the best outcome at all levels and we can all go ride our bikes and feel everyone is pulling in the same direction.
I wish I understood the whole equation but I don't so can't provide any answers. I think only a few do know the best way forward but for the time being perhaps we should try to argue less and try and see the other guys point of view.
Happy safe and legal riding chaps
Mike

great first post, unlike the TRF there is a free speech policy on this forum,if you think you can barge in and dictate to people please feel free to go f*$£ yourself (thumbs)Steve McQueen wrote:Well said... there are a few folk on this forum who post mis-information against the TRF..... a bunch of t**ts if you ask me. if you're not a member or not going to renew then SHUT UProdyorkabr wrote:I am not in the TRF. from an outsiders perspective, I believe they have made great contributions to keeping open byways etc. This infighting is not helpful though & causes me concern, while no doubt offering ammunition for the ramblers etc.

Re: TRF becomming Extinct?
sorry to hear that you think that....but then thats what the incumbent Directors want you to think. They dish out the same to anyone that does not agree with them. Some big organisations are included in that too....whole groups think the same, some have now taken different paths. They all cannot be wrong and they have not done it because of ex directors.Steve McQueen wrote:Tonibe63 wrote:Very true Rod.rodyorkabr wrote:

TRF becomming Extinct?
You can just pay £45 per year and not do any rides or meets with them, if you don't have any desire toorodyorkabr wrote:Johnny..good question...from an outsiders perspective(without wishing to derail this thread in any way)..johnnyboxer wrote:So why don't you become a member ?rodyorkabr wrote:I am not in the TRF. from an outsiders perspective, I believe they have made great contributions to keeping open byways etc.
