Welsh Adventure Weekend '10' Sweet Lamb Hill Climb / Rally Sprint Race Oct 2016

Post by beer »

sorry but due to low numbers this event is POSTPONED UNTIL 29/30th October

When - Friday evening 28th October to Sunday mid afternoon 30th October
aka when Dozerman Dan stops trying to throw rocks at the moon and we get Nikos the Greek (aka Rossi illegitimate child) bike out of the dealers and get it fixed for him in Kent so he can come. oh and when Moly is free;)

Where
A mystical valley in Mid Wales fabled for acts bravery and heroism where men are men and women turn up on scooters (<650cc) Sweet Lamb Adventure Rally Bike Academy
Glanrhyd, Pantmawr, Llanidloes, Powys SY18 6SY

what will we be doing
searching for the holy grail..

Friday Eve - drink your own brew and munch on some snacks at the world famous Sweet Lamb Rally Complex...mountain lambs are sweeter!!

Saturday AM trail ride (periscope/snorkel) optional :rotflmao: in the stunning mountains of Mid Wales in a few groups of 8/10.

Saturday PM Hill Climb - couple of miles up a trail designed to sort the Meat from the chaff...or the beer from the lager...or the wheel tappers from the buyers....you get the idea! Actually a couple of miles for fun - timed to a 100 of a second because this is how we roll;)

Saturday Night - Optional night rally as a trial...:D...few miles over the tops:cool:

also Saturday Night - Mega BBQ - trust me it's worth coming just for this BBQ:burp:the food at the last one was the best i have ever had at a BBQ thanks to the owner of the centres Wife and her sister.

Sunday the Main Event Sprint Race
around the world famous Sweet Lamb Rally Stage. rally in the footsteps of heroes....or just pootle round at your own pace...or just kick your camel or be a Marshall. Moly will decide on the route but expect approx 8/10km lap with a sighting lap to begin with.

Food
evenings BBQ in the barn with a roaring log fire to keep us toasty.
Saturday & Sunday morning bacon or sausage and egg sandwich
Saturday lunchtime grub from a garage, Sunday lunchtime butties on site
tea / coffee as and when you like all weekend.
you have to bring your own Beer etc.....i come for free:D

Chosen charity
for the 10th anniversary we will be raising funds for a different charity - Afghan Heroes...optional donations welcome

Do i have to ride a KTM
No, camels, donkeys etc are all fine with us, but the main event is aimed at V Twins / + 650cc thumpers

Is there a limit on numbers
No more the merrier - only limit on beds in the bunkhouse (16)...oh and get us we've got mattresses this time - proper job!!

Prizes
the prize for the winner is a pat on the back and bragging rights until the next one;). keeps it fun between a great bunch of mates then;)

cost
£160 all in - discounts available for those not wanting to race, not sleep in the bunkhouse, traveling marshals etc

included in the cost is a drying room for your kit, jetwash

the night rally is optional and a free trial to see how it goes.

general info
the craic is mighty on these weekends and once you've been to one you will want to come again.

there is no limit on numbers only accommodation at the bunkhouse (max 16), you can of course kip in your van or bring a tent (hard pack gravel ground) or try and find space and sleep on the floor in the garage etc - just state this when you PM me and I will add you to the list below.

It's open to all abilities we had a few last weekend that had never been off road and they did great - there's plenty of people around to give you advice / help you pick up/repair your bike up etc.

The Sunday sprint is marshaled by travelling marshals and run very professionally by Moly, so you have nothing to worry about - just go at your own pace. No one will remember how quick everyone is, but they will remember if you helped them out or knocked them off!!

to sign up send me a private message; in the mean time just reply to this thread

and even after WW10 it's not safe to put your bike away because........this will follow...

Welsh Weekend 11 - Christmas 16.
if you thought the above is exciting.....WW (Legs) 11 near Christmas will see the return of Owain Glyndwrs' long lost son (JonesWGareth) return from far away shores (Canada) to our mystical land bringing gifts of beer and tales of heroics and a t-shirt two with a bit of luck;)

we may stay in a stable house in a historic mansion near the coast; some say home to the holy grail for over 200yrs, eat fine food, drink even finer wine and be merry:cool: or if the weather is half decen we may even head back to sweet lamb or stop in a historic pub famed as the home of highway robbers

I could be interested in this, how much would it cost me to come and sleep in the van but drag the Mrs along, she wouldn't be riding just there for the crack?

sure thing good idea, saves on buying flowers for the pass for the weekend (thumbs)

if i do a very easy route for you she can come on the back for the trail ride saturday morning...or i can plot a route for you do do some road miles, or she can just hang around base - some great scenery and wifi for wifey  etc.. up to you....

cost wise it's less 50 for you not sleeping in the bunkhouse and plus 40 for food for the misses all weekend....so 150 total for the pair of you in the van inc grub mate

I've added you to the list as provisional until you let me know, payment requests will go out to all tonight, payable by 1st October then we can budget for food - all the food is locally sourced so TOP quality!!

cheers
