A bimble about in France, June 2016

Post by RobK »

My plan for me and my Super Ten.
Going to Normandy with RBLR end of May, they are heading back on the 30th but I figured I'd take the rest of the week off and have a ride about but wasn't sure where to go, that was until I saw the cover of issue 30, wow, that's in France, I can make that in the limited time I have, so now I have a rough plan.
Leave Normandy on the 30th and ride down to Bordeaux to drink lots of G&T at a friends place, then ride the approx. 450 miles to the Vercors and find that road from the ABR cover, might even try and get that same pic.
After that I have no plans apart from head up, maybe Italy, Switzerland, depends on time as need to be back at Calais the following Sunday.
Thought about camping but decided I'll rough it in B&Bs.... less luggage :-)
If anyone fancies tagging along let me know, it'll be longish days.

Might see you around, me and my wife are going there at around the same time (and reason) but we'll be in the car for a change.
Getting the santander ferry then working our was across the pyrenees and then up into France, nothing planned though and only the outbound ferry booked.

For the first 2 and a half weeks in June the good Lady Bill and me will be driving down to the Pyrenees in our campervan with the Transalp hooked up on the back. Initially heading for Lourdes then on to Gavarnie and the winding roads in the area. Can't wait :-).

Nick.
