TRF becomming Extinct?
Re: TRF becomming Extinct?
Not sure what is happening here, from what I hear the groups are still strong, but have to agree about posts being removed.

Can't post on their forum as it is just deleted if it does not follow corporate policy.
Rummors of several breakaway organisations being formed under the banner FRT.
I understand this means they are moving back to their routes.
If anybody has information it would help as don't want to waste membership which is due in a couple of months.

Spot on Andy. There is no alternative organisation to the TRF that I am aware of either.AndyB wrote:When someone points me at an alternative group that fights to keep routes open and actively supports the legal right of motorcyclists to use those routes I might consider joining it but I can't see anything open to me as an option right now.
I'll admit that if all you want to do is post on a forum for trail riders and not help keep routes open then the TRF is an expensive way to do it but don't come crying when everywhere is closed to us and don't blame the TRF for those closures.
Over the years, various areas (mid Wales comes to mind) have had different groups come to the fore for a few years, but often their remit is competition, which is fine, but it is not really what the TRF has ever been about!
The TRF Forum does not have enough to active Members to really generate the momentum a good Forum has, especially if it is nationwide. I dip in once or twice a week, and have found a few good contacts over recent years out of my area. The ABR forum can also do this I agree....

This just reminded me of Monty Python, Life of Brian.Marionette wrote: Rummors (sic) of several breakaway organisations being formed under the banner FRT.
Are you the Judean People's Front? Reg: F**k off! We're the People's Front of Judea
Whats next? "What has the TRF ever done for us" ?

With 2 expections thanks for comments.
I have genuine concerns for the organisation but so few comment on their forum looking for wider views. May give it another year to see if management improves as cause is good.
I don't post much but find reading posts can help.
To those who didn't like the questions asked a positive response may have been of better use to your cause.

Re: TRF becomming Extinct?
You have the answer. Membership is growing although the forum is quiet as the power of social media aka facebook simply works better for sharing ride-outs, ride reports, pics and videos amongst and between regional trf groups. You can be a "sleeping member" and just pay the annual subs and not concern yourself with management. You believe in the cause. That,s enough reason to pay less than £50 a year.

Re: TRF becomming Extinct?
Well I did pay my £45, but probably for the last time.
Don't need the TRF to ride the lanes, but I thought we did to save them.
At least 3 directors have resigned during the year, with mention of a 4th.
I can't put my views on the TRF forum as like others I will end up being the victim not the concerned long term member.
I have tried to do my bit over the years and will continue with or without the TRF's backing.
They say power corrupts and from what I can see what has been happening on their Forum over the last few days has proved this. It looks like the opportunity for change from within has vanished so perhaps working from outside means we are at the last chance saloon.
