...we are supplied with facts about effects that are easy to measure, and we tend to recognise those facts that support our beliefs about what is right and wrong... but ...
the other effects which are more difficult to record are nevertheless present ..and felt by everyone ..language and cultural / religious differences - dependant famillies and higher birth rates .. fully subscribed schools...

there's more to life than money and taxes (tho a politician might not agree with me)

Ok, it seems to me that I keep reading we should leave because of the money it costs to stay in and because of those pesky immigrants. Then I see that the same immigrants actually put more money into the 'system' than they take out so from that point of view they're not so bad but the bottom line is that there's more to life than money and taxes.

That really only leaves sovereignty as a clear cut issue except both UK & EU governments are elected in free votes which I have a vote in and both are told exactly what to do by unelected career civil servants who don't care which way the public vote.

It's not getting any easier.

That apart, the EU as a trading block is always going to be more powerful than just the UK and in competing with US, China and soon India we're going to need all the help we can get

They probably put as much in to this country as the low paid EU workers do. At least they are spending there benefits in this country so keeping business alive and paying tax on goods.

A lot of EU migrants are here just for the money while the going is good. They spend bare minimum on living and send the rest home.

EU migrants are not even my biggest issue. Its the biblical scores of non EU migrants that Mental Merkel is encouraging. When she realizes she f##ked up and wants to stop them going there, she will grant them the freedom of movement.

a failing institution that no one seems to know how to fix but lot's keep screaming for us to stay in ? would it not be better to leave whilst we have the opportunity to do so and make our own way in the world before it all does implode, look how they are handling Greece and also the debacle of what is happening with the economic migrants/refugees.

I've read that we export 50% of our exports goes to the EU but we only import 10% of theirs this is from my local Con MP, so ok what do those figures represent in £ and tonnage to me 50% of one countries out put against 10% of 20 odd countries output that 10% could be a massive figure but is well hidden

Borders are going up at an alarming rate all across the EU countries are ignoring EU rules and going their own way HMMM so much for a united future more tightly regulated and integrated future united Europe

For me this just about summarises it. I just don't see enough (if any) advantages to leaving. Where as we could potentially loose a lot if we do. Better the devil you know :dry:

The "factoids" are one example of corroborated facts about the EU. For example, multiple sources agree that EU and immigrants in general contribute more in tax than they take back in benefits.

Are any of those sources funded by the EU ?

I bet just as many 'multiple sources' say they dont.........

I cannot find any that are from the EU itself and which say they don't.
