What would you recommend to be seen and what's to avoid if anything, she is into the outdoors

cheers in advance

The Drakensburg mountains are good for hiking so that'll occupy you for a few days.

The normal tourist spots of Cape Town, Durban, Kruger Park are worth visiting. Jo'burg is seriously dodgy and only worth flying into so you can hire a car to go to Kruger Park.

We went about 5 years ago and picked up a Toyota camper van then drove to Kruger Park, spent 4 nights there then drove down to Durban over a few days. We had a couple of days off driving and stopped in a hotel in Durban then drove along the Garden Route before spending a week just outside Cape Town.

I lived there for 3 years and travelled extensively for my job so saw pretty much most of the country and preferred the south coast by a long way. Namibia is supposed to be very nice but I only saw it from a helicopter apart from when I was waiting in a camp or actually on site so I can't confirm that one.

Kruger is well worth a few days but make sure you're up early as it goes mental with tour buses. Fly into Joburg & then get out as quickly as possible, it's one of those cities.

Do the Garden Route, the scenery is stunning & I could happily live in Cape Town.

If someone says they will see / meet you 'now' spend the day doing something interesting, it usually means next Tuesday :pinch:

Now means sometime ...... "now now" means right now. :)

Grew up there, 21 years but left in 1990. It has everything so you need to give people some sort of idea what sort of thing go you like.
Yamaha tenere 700

What about "just now"
Just round the corner could mean 1/2 half an hour away

We only have 2 weeks for this visit which the Mrs has informed me will be our first :woohoo: (so I take that there will be more)

We are into the out doors not particularly into cities, she is looking at the parks and some walking at the moment. So animal, mountains and scenery usually for not fussed about people

we know with 2 weeks we will hardly be scratching the surface but we don't have a lot of spare time this year with other commitments. We have a visit to NZ at the end of the year and I may have to disappear to Bulgaria for 3 month's work from September.

Her Birthday is the 29th of April so I might chuck a couple of nights in a decent hotel in for her.

Any help very appreciated (thumbs)

cheers Spud ;)
