Best tribute bands?

Post by Barftone »

Worthy mentions for Whole Lotta Led (last friday), Livewire ACDC, Bootleg Beatles, best of all has to go to Brit Floyd... and I am not a huge Floyd fan but what a lightshow and performance. Down the toilet goes the Indian Elvis!

Probably the best I've ever seen was a French band who did Beatles covers. I can't for the life of me remember their name but I saw them 3 or 4 times and they were consistently good.

I'd sooner see a decent tribute band than what's supposed to be the genuine article then when you turn up there's only one out of the original line up playing with a few session musicians. I always feel cheated when that happens and usually end up leaving early :(

If you like Queen the MERCURY is a must see. The lead singer not only looks like Freddie, (but maybe a couple of pounds heavier) but ose your eyes and you would swear he was singing/talking, fantastic 2 hour show. The only tribute band booked by the remaining members of Queen to play at a function for Freddie's mum too!

Saw 'Whole Lotta Led' in Swansea a few weeks back, a very poor turnout for an outstanding performance, the drummer is John Bonham !!!

If you like tribute bands why not check out the butlins theme weekends, where they have numerous bands on all weekend. Besides the 50's 60's 70's & 80's weekends, they also have tribute band themes

I've seen tons of tribute acts and The Australian Pink Floyd Show is right up there with the best. If you get the chance go to the Glastonbudget Festival in May/June, just about all the acts are tributes and it's a great festival to boot. Fun and friendly like they should be.

Nick.
