Err No! But then again, I don't remember saying that I did want to. But thanks for jumping to conclusions anyway.

FFS I only bought it to the attention of others having found it on another site.

But, if it you take it in a month early and it fails for something stupid like headlight alignment and you fix it immediately you still can't use the bloody thing.
I wasn't jumping to conclusions, simply asking a question rather than making an accusation but surely if it fails on something like headlight alignment and you fix it then take it for a retest inside 7 days they only check the issue it failed on and you get your pass slip 3 weeks ahead of the expiry date?

I think the changes to the mot test so you're able to see test history on line is a good pointer towards how well someone looks after their bike and while an advisory for worn tyres is easily dismissed a fail for shot wheel bearings or loose spokes would make me question how well the bike was looked after. That's not an accusation either before you get the wrong idea.

I wouldn't present a bike for mot if it was going to fail,it's just a waste of everyone's time.
The mot is a basic safety inspection ,IMO it's pretty hard for a bike to fail
I have never had a bike fail an mot since I was a teenager :pinch:

The guy who tests my bikes does a pre-mot check for free and if something is obviously not right he will tell you to get it fixed rather than waste his time(and your money) testing it just to fail it.

Europe has the answer seperate testing stations in my opion...lol
That's true - the 'ITV' (inspección técnicia de vehiculos) testers are totally the same wherever you go - and bloody strict!

But you can't say the same thing about how the companies win the contract for the testing station concessions!

Since then the scandal has got much deeper ...

PS that's a good point about a) how long in advance you can order the test and b) whether the unexpired portion 'rolls over'!

PPS it's always been the case here too that once you've failed a test presentation the vehicle is 'failed' - that's also very easy to police - the stickers that you see in Spanish cars and on bikes -normally on the front fork - aren't tax like in the UK, but the testing dates, validity , etc. - NB most Spanish traffic cops think the UK tax disk is likewise a proof of the roadworthiness test so they are very vigilant about this - they don't give a f*** about tax payments!

I wish I had never started this thread.
The only post so far that has been positive is from a real MOT tester. (thumbs)

Putting moral issues aside as to whether you should or should not drive an MOT failure then why should an early MOT test void a current certificate that you have paid for.
Does this mean that if you are stopped by the police for an unroadworthy vehicle that your MOT is void?????
if not why not?????
Can you drive a vehicle with a void existing MOT to a repair station????
If it creates this many problems then don't get it tested early.
