Are ABR Rallies a thing of the past ?

Anything goes, and mine's a Guinness.

just a point i invite a couple of different groups to my events ,,,,, last year the weather wasn't that good at the Ecky Thump ,,,,,, the ABR numbers were poor, BUT the Harley davidsons riders club had a good turnout and out numbered them ,

I would not have a problem with that at all mate, I could even borrow a mates Hog for the trip down, I was laughing at the thought of the tough rough ABR's being out number by HOG riders ;) all tongue in cheek mate

I don't care what people ride as long as they ride, Harley or an Indian now there's a question I lean towards Indians myself (thumbs)

Cheers Spud ;)

I'm trying to clear things up so I can do either November or December to try out my new outfit but a looming house move is tying up my free time at the moment.

I've been to a number of ABR Ralies and a few bigger events. I enjoy both but the ABR meets I've been to have always been very friendly. I'd plan to go to a bigger event with a mate but I'm happy to rock up to an ABR event on my own, knowing I'm going to meet peeps who are happy to chat and more importantly share their knowledge.

The Yueltide and West Wales events with raffles and food on the go etc are great and hats off to the members who organise those but the 'tent in a field' events are fun too. Being fairly new to adventure biking and with a young family, I struggle to get away for the big trips. The rallies offer the prospect of a weekend adventure to different places and the chance to see and hear what works for people re: bikes and camping kit.

To those who organise the events, big or small, thanks for your efforts.

I think the weather this year has had an impact on numbers so if you are new to the forum and have yet to attend a rally, my advice would be to not let negative comments put you off but come along and see for yourself.
