Are ABR Rallies a thing of the past ?

I think Danny's location at Haggsbank is good. There's no pub close by but Danny keeps his huge beer cooler well stocked and there was a good choice of local real ales. He does have rooms or you can camp on the field slope or in the wood (where you can hammock as well like me). He cooks food if we want that and organise in advance or he'll break the BBQ out. And then there's the camp fire.

Takoda's got pubs and takeaways close by and the common room and Paul's fires.

For the rest we organisers have to decide what to offer you as trying to get a consensus out of all the wants when we ask proved a nightmare. I didn't know the area around Haggsbank well before this year but we managed to organise some road and off round ride outs. And there was music and French girls!!

This year's was put together in a hurry when the Boil was cancelled but next year's will be better as we have longer to plan it now and I know better what you lot want

The West wales Weekend ABR RALLY when I joined the forum. And as for a shitty field in the middle of nowhere, I'm sorry but you must be in the wrong field.

just got back from ullapool, weather not to bad this year, had a great time met a few more of the lads, esp the ones from ireland, another top do about 30 tents considering the recent weather a good turn out

tobe honest i don't really worry about how many turn up as most event i try to organise are winter time ,

quality not quantity ,,,,, we always have a great meet at the Yule tide , Ecky Thump and the Malvern ,

we try at the Yule tide to feed everyone and i think we have set a high standard,

I must agree with the last posts I have been to the last 3 west wales rally's and found them great with like minded people and food laid on by Al and co the field over looks the sea and there is some very nice walks just out of the camping field as I went off on my own on the Sunday morning . Last year I was made very welcome in my van as I had broken my wrist and could not ride the bike . I had more then 4 offers from the lads to go as pillion on there bike I had to say no as I only got the plaster off on the Friday of the meet & had not got my gear with me . big Al them offerd to take me to the pub were the ride outs meet for lunch .

There are a lot on this site saying that rally are no good well get off you backside and you try and organise some and see if you can please every one and get off the fence

A big thanks to the one that have do organise the rally's

As most know I try to put on a good weekend for the salisbiry plain rally.

Last year there were a lot of people but this year number were small...I think to weather forecast was to blame as it did rain hard on Sunday morning.

Other than providing a hotel I'm not sure what more I could do...

There was a fry up available both mornings....hot showers and loos all night...a good bar with ok food onsite,,,,a shop and chippy two mins walk away....and over 100 miles off road on the Saturday. Non of this ride 50 motorway miles for ten mins of grass....I keep Tarmac to as much of a minimum as I can...I think everybody enjoyed the route this year?

I charge £5 per tent per night and this all goes to the club. The rally costs me nor the football club nothing to put on and I don't take a penny from it.

So I'm not sure what more I could do for people. If anybody wants something different please do let me know.

But I will say one thing,...and this is not aimed at anybody...its easy to moan about things on here but not many seem to be bothered about putting their money where there mouth goes and trying to do it better.
