"Off to the land of the ice and snow aaaahaaahaaahaah"! - On a bit of a budget!

Post by jim-500 »

So at 2 am tomorrow morning my girlfriend and I set off for Iceland to spend a month riding as many f-roads and river crossings as possible.

All packed:

Figured I'd stick some pics up of the process on here :)

We opted to take the bikes in a van instead of ride up (Cass couldnt get long enough off work and it actually works out marginally cheaper...plus the van can be loaded with beer and pot noodles)

So of course I called up actionmobil for one of these...

Then I woke up!... and figured how hard can it be to build your own!

First though it was off to pickup Stan's DRZ, big thanks to Stan...bike was top notch!

it was pretty much ready to go, but I fitted a few more luggage loops, beefed up the bash plate and fitted a pelicase and screen!

Next was the van, Ive used a hilux for work for ages so seemed like the logical choice...10 days to turn it into something capable of carting us to Iceland (and back).

Looks pretty pro to me. Don't plenty of people go to Iceland on bicycles?
