Hi there,
Anyone using rechargeable AA batteries for a camera flash? I'm after a recommendation for four batteries / charger for a Canon 580 EX ii speedlite. Particularly batteries that can cope with colder temperatures.
Regards,
John.

My other half uses Eneloop batteries that last for something like 5000 pics on a digital camera. I think thats how they spell the name

Yep Sanyo Eneloop are the amongst the best. Many of the ones that claim higher capacity are not in reality. Eneloop also don't self-discharge quickly.

It was a right pain using small digital cameras in the early days as nicad or later nimha didn't last five minute and I was perplexed why you could not get proper Lithium AA. I see you can now get them on eBay

Re: One for the Photographers - Rechargeable Batteries???
Hi All,
Thought I'd give a bit of feedback on my recent purchase. I went with the Eneloop batteries, (£19.99 for eight.) and found an Eneloop charger on Ebay for £2.50!!! I use a Canon EX 580 ii speedlite with my 7D and the difference in recharge / longevity is enormous. One set of four lasted most of a full day of shooting, so eight batteries is more than enough for me.
Thanks for the advice guys!!!
