This may seem a little obvious but how about a 650 Versys, lots of character and a hoot in the twisties.

Yep I'd go along with that.
Go & try one, you might be surprised how different to the 1,000 they are.
Cheap to run, good on fuel & great rides in all departments.
Should get a good deal against the 1,000.
Lightness is everything.

V-strom 650 for me. Nearly bought one years ago. Did loads of research then bought a new TDM900 in the end! Wish I'd gone for the V-Strom.
The trouble for me now is I can't lose my addiction to Transalps!!
I've no idea how to add a signature.

All good calls, I am keeping looking a 650 versys as well, had an ER6F engine and I know the engine is a great!

Plenty of options! :)

Honda varadero, never owned one but did have a ride on one once, loved it, if I wanted a cheap adventure bike to ride two up then I would get one, I have a 660 tenere and in my mind its gutless for two up.just a thought :) .

Latest in the bike hunt....

Went to a dealer to have a look at a bandit and a Gladius. All was going well until they looked at my bike as it's has 18,000 (2012 plate) and a few marks here and there. I knew it wasn't a1 condition when I brought it but the price was good and I use my bikes lots so they are never going to be mint. Was very surprised when he said they wouldn't make an offer on my bike. Salesmen said that the price they would offered would be stealing it away and he didn't want to do that.

So got to look at possible selling it privately however there is finance owed on it, also need to test ride a tenere as I do miss being in a proper adventure bike.

It's hard because my wife and I had a lovely ride in the versys and had a big chat. I am somewhat of a worrier, and over think things. It's rather silly but I am still upset about my lovely BMW That was stolen this year. Feels like that is hindering the bond for the V1.

So the plan is to ride as much as possible And test ride a few bikes. I might save some
Cash up and pay off a lump sum on the versys to get the finance payments down.

Thanks for all the advice, some cracking suggestions.
Dave
