I bought this bike new at the end of 2012 and have ridden 2300 happy miles. It is an excellent mid-price touring bike and now has many premium upgrades. Most notably the XT v-brakes, Mavic A719 rims front and back and the SON28 and Schmidt Edelux means never having to worry about front lights. You could also use the SON with a e-werk or cache battery to power devices. I replaced the Dawes alu racks with the very rugged Tubus Nova and Tubus Cosmo. The new brakes stops very quickly even when fully loaded, the rims are rock solid and the light can be always on great for visibility (they can also be switched to automatic when the come on in low light conditions). The saddle is Brooks B17 honey and it has been treated with proofide.

The bike has been cleaned after every ride and well looked after. Small area of surface damage to paint where I had a cheap centre stand fitted for a tour. I removed the stand and put a smear of araldite to seal over the paint scrape. Also slight damage to handle bar foam on edge (see picture 1). Ive switched to a thorn bike and don't have space for two bikes.

This would be the perfect bike for someone new to touring who wants a premium product but doesnt want to pay £1586. (Comes with original wheels, racks and saddle).
