The Bmw insurance quote didn't include breakdown. Out of curiosity I asked about a multi bike policy to include my Er5. It turned out 2 years ago when I lost my garage they didn't amend my policy which bumped it up to £198. A new multi bike policy for any manufacturer was £198 for 2 Bmw,s added on the Er5 it went up to £199. The Er5 policy was £112 so still a canny saving :)

Dave DRZ wrote:Just renewed mine today - DRZ plus VFR - £320 for 15 month's cover via MCE. Carol Nash were competitive - it was the 3 months free from MCE that swung it. But Bennets were a joke, couldn't / wouldn't give me a quote because the DRZ has an Acerbis petrol tank.

Dave
tell me about it!! Bennetts have REFUSED to re-insure both my bikes- even though I have no claims convictions etc...they say their insurers criteria has changed!!!!!!!! WHAT???????? not happy with them

Another big thumbs-down for Bennetts here too. Changed to them about 4 months ago as their multi bike price was lower than the insurer I was with (Ebike) and they offered cover for up to 6 bikes rather than 4.
As most people who have several bikes, I change some of them regularly. Went to change some on my policy to find a) you have to telephone them on a premium line to make the change, online is not possible (even though you can do your first application that way!) b) it costs a £25 'admin' charge, even if the rating doesn't change and c) I wrote an email to their official contact email address 2 weeks ago, to complain, ask about the implications of early cancellation and make suggestions, but have not heard a thing back - not even an acknowledgement email.
Shabby - avoid at all costs and take your business elsewhere, as I'll be doing as soon as I can.
Greyhound Racing .... don't bet, don't go - you bet, they die

Pretty standard, CN charge between £35-£50 for a mid term adjustment, like adding a new bike

Can't see your problem, it's cheap @ £25

PaulinBont wrote:Thank you for all your helpful suggestions. This insurance thingy is a strange beast...had quotes from all the above and Bennetts came in by a wide margin as the cheapest....that is after telling me a year ago they were no longer doing multi-bike cover therefore no longer wanted my business !!!!!!
I agree to your rant. Looking for the cheapest motorcycle insurance is a pain in the head. Try Yep Market, they might be able to help you on getting quotes online.

I dread every renewal date of every type of insurance. I thought once I was over 50, I'd be paying pennies for it too!
Spent 2.5 hrs of my life this morning searching for multi-bike insurance & had a re-read of this thread. My Serow isn't recognised on comparethemarket.com so had to call several. In the end, I went back to BikeSure.
