This years trip to Brittany.

Post by barnhatter »

Well.
First of sorry have not completed my write up and pics from last years trip to Spain, Will do it when I get back.
I am doing an easy trip this year as I usually end up spending all day in a rush to get the miles in.
Last year spent the last night in Normandy, weather was nice so thought I would go to Brittany this year.
Planned a 10 day trip with only 2 long days and 3 days rest.
I am off in the morning, 5th catching a tunnel train at 1400 as I am working tonight.
Going to the north to Treguier, then across to the western points at Camaret sur mer, have a day off as that is planned to take 4 days. then taking 2 days to get to Vannes and have a couple of days off to look at the Town and the stone allignments at Carnac.
After that a long drive back home via the tunnel on the 14th.
Should be a good easy trip as once in Brittany the days are less than 200 miles.
It will be nice to arrive at campsites mid afternoon and enjoy them rather than getting there late and having no time. Just have to stock up on wine and beer.
Hope to be a bit better with my report this time.
Bye for now.

Have a great time, I lived in Brittany for 13 years, only came back two years ago, looking at your route you might even go through Guingamp on the way to Treguier. While you're near have a look for the "Route des Ajoncs" it loops from Treguier around the north coast towards Paimpol, then along the "Circuit des Falaises" ending at Plouha, lovely riding along the coast with beautiful beaches ending up at "Plage Bonaparte" which was used by the Allies to take downed airmen off the beach and back to Blighty. All very Allo Allo.

PS For free wifi try McDonalds, you don't even have to go in, it'll work from the car park outside.
