I have the Almax and the Pragmasis versions.

To be honest both very similar quality - so just go with which is best priced, or gives you a better response over the phone.

I bought the almax used off ebay and the pragmasis / torc brand new.

both 16mm links with squire padlocks

I was going to make my own anchor as my bike doesn't warrant an expensive one.

A quick look on Ebay found a lot of crap and then this gem;

Neat, sink the whole of it in the concrete.

Datatool also do a pretty solid anchor http://www.datatool.co.uk/consumer/prod ... =fortress1 . I bought one and had it installed at my workplace about 8 years ago. Still going strong.

This does not surprise me , chains are easy to cut with the right equipment , what surprises me are the prices ,... about 100 pounds for steel chain ?
DAVSATO's sugestion makes sense . any decent chain will do the job stopping or slowing down someone whos attempting to steel the bike ( the pro thieves will brake it in seconds anyway ) .
