My view is that is 2 lanes moving into 1 ... the scooter rider should have moved into the left lane before doing a lifesaver and moving to the right as the hatched markings appear on the left hand side of the road. Also the scooter rider says he was loosing grip due to the weather conditions so should he really have been on the road in the first place if his tyres are not upto gripping the road?

If he travels that road every day then he should be aware of the width and the invitation that is offered to car drivers coming off the roundabout onto the slip.

The motorcyclist did not do himself any favours by f'ing and blinding ... if he felt he was in the right then he should have called the police there and then.

The car driver was an idiot for doing the emergency stop in front of the bike.

Just watched the vid, the fat git in the jag was definately in a rush and being a bully.
Ok I don't think the ped needed to be that far over but, I was taught left hand bend stay out to the right, right hand keep left, you can see further ahead etc etc.

He had no right to push his way through and then to stop the rider like that, I am afraid that he wouldn't have had time to give me a mouthful, I would have dragged him out of that car

Sorry Jelly, I think you would be wrong to report the lad on the scooter. Granted he could have completed the manouevre better than he did but the fact is the driver tried to overtake when he didn't have space to do so safely.
There's deffo a dividing white line.

All taken on board, but I still see them both to blame for the collision.
I've looked at it many times. I can't see any dividing white lines. I can see where the tarmac has been laid in 2 strips and has broken up on the join. It certainly doesn't look wide enough to be 2 lanes. The 2 strips visible near the roundabout when they walk back clearly show them to be vastly different in width.

There are no arrows on the road to indicate merging lanes and I didn't see any road signs which support this. The distance from the roundabout to where they stopped isn't far and if lanes were merging over that short a distance you would expect to see warnings of such.

My 32 years experience see's the scooter in the correct lane round the roundabout exiting on to a single carriageway road which has a generous entrance narrowing to normal width. The scooter is quite entitled to be there. The car has come from behind him and not exercised due care in trying to overtake especially in light of the road conditions which are wet and likely to be greasy. To then stop in front of him like that is bordering on reckless.

You can clearly see, no white lines and only one lane coming off that roundabout.

At about 3.15 on the video you see another scooter coming by in about the same position on the road. May be the line to avoid that broken road surface when on two wheels.

The brief glimpses you get of other traffic exiting the roundabout on to that road do not show anyone else treating it as 2 lanes.

When the car driver paces the width of the road out you get to see in both directions, no lane markings or signs.

The nonsense he was telling the scoot rider supports the bullshit theory of him being a driving instructor as he claimed.

Anyone know what the speed limit is. I can see the street lights but no repeater signs.

I've watched it over a few times again and I stand corrected

Its the broken centre band of tarmac that I thought was a faint white line.

Scooter rider rider is exonerated of all charges.

Driver not, I'd have still stuck him on.

But i'd still stick to what I said earlier if it had been 2 lanes.
