Hi Guys
Well with all this cold weather it is a great time to plan all your road trips for this year. I am looking at doing Slovinia and the Carpathian mountains then into Croatia back through Austria and home should be about 2 weeks I think.
Can you recommend some great routes and places to see and stay.
Maybe we could meet up on route somewhere!

Well it looks like the touring season is over we have just had our snow fall here in Prague and the daily temperatures are below freezing. The 1st November signals the fitting of winter tyres onto all vehicles.
So now is the time to prepare your bike for winter storage then to sit back and start planning all new adventures for next year.
Where will you be travelling to next year?

Hi, a couple of years ago I did a 5000 mile trip in europe. The main focus being on following the full route of the Carpathian Mts. I would highly recommend this route.

It is strange but I have been reading a lot of biker adventure books recently and there are very few stories about touring in Eastern Europe. It seems everyone wants to do the Americas or Africa. I am now in the throws of mapping out a route through Eastern Europe and the Balkans where there are fantastic mountains and open plains with interesting locals and history that needs to be recorded before it all dissapears. Another advantage is regarding visa and insurance which is much easier and less problematic.
Anyone got any interesting places that they to visit?

Hi Steve, i have been to Bulgria 3 times mainly for trail riding and recomend the Trigrad area as a base (there is a hotel nearby in Teschel that i usually stay at). There are numerous trails of all levels and the locals are happy to sse you (unlike uk). i recently purchased a large scale map from ebay of the Rhodopos region which shows a number of routes. Andy

Hi, I think Europe gets interesting and affordable when you cross the old iron curtain. I've never ridden in The Czech Republic, but I've been through Poland, Hungry,Slovakia,Romania,Serbia and Bulgaria. I plan on another trip this year, taking in more of the Balkan countries, with may be some off-road stuff in Bulgaria, Any advise gratefully received!
