Thanks Dub
My post was because your post simply said 'sponsor me'; that was all, nothing else. Now it seems the money is for India.
I have travelled in Asia too, a fair bit, and I'm sorry to have to tell you that giving through charity to India may not be what it seems.
India is the biggest arms buyer on the planet
India has a space programme
India is massively corrupt, with countless billions stolen
India is full of scams
India has the money to help its people, who sorely need proper social programmes.
If you ask me, I can suggest how you can better raise money for your charity.
I'll leave it at that.
Best wishes!

It's not like giving to one of the big charities where most of he money is taken in "admin" in this case the money goes directly to one orphanage. I am sure Paul will come on and explain in greater detail.
I'll be glad to chuck a pound in the pot at Ullapool although no doubt it will be more

Recently in India I was asked for money for "an orphanage" in South India. The guy was well dressed and had a neat little moped. I asked where is the orphanage and followed up the address. Yes there were kids in there - looked OK. Then I found out that these were local kids on a holiday trip. The guy was pocketing the cash.
There are a thousand stories like this. The point is India has the money. Anything less is a drop in the ocean, and good people think they're making a difference. Theyre not.

Would live to do it in a mankini but there is no armour in one and you know what they say all the gear all the time. Plus people normally pay to avoid such a sight
