Two things... a little bump to this thread just to keep in view and jog memories, and a modification to the list as my son Charlie cant make it now. He has left University and has a real job to start at the beginning of September.
The modified list is in post 8 as quoted above.

I have PM'd everyone on the list about one of the routes we will be doing on this rideout. Please check your inboxes. The message is about the state of one of the tracks and I am asking you to consider if you and your bike are fit for the track. It was described to me as being rough, steep in places and exposed. However don't make a decision right now as due to the somewhat poor take up of my planned Saturday rideout I will instead go and have a recce of the track on foot so I can brief you all before we leave.
I will also do some more googling to try and find pictures and descriptions of the track to update you.
Could I also ask that you dont disclose to all and sundry where we are going.

I likes a challenge, but I'm not into cliff riding - seen some of them dodgy vids from else where in Europe and they scared me fartless.
