Before receiving a lifetime ban from ABR....
Perhaps a warning to 'wind your neck in'
At times, personal circumstances can cause folk to act out of character and forget themselves, in an ideal world this wouldn't happen, but we're only human.
Just a suggestion

IB, don't get me started on touch screen phones, I've nearly thrown mine out of the window on more than one occassion
As for who's been banned, I'm just putting a suggestion into the 'Suggestion Box'.

+1 if its private then not sure why you'd start a new thread on it :whistle:jaz1259 wrote:Why who do you want banning?

Interesting suggestion Dan,
It does assume that a ban is for life and of course there are always warnings – perhaps not as blunt as ‘wind your neck in’.
Often it is the case that people are spoken to in pm or asked to calm things down. Obviously if someone just goes over the top then they may find they have a ban.
There are many reasons for being banned – a serious breach of forum rules, such as racism or homophobic remarks. There are reasons to banning spammers that again ignore the rules of the forum.
But also there is the ban that gives that time out for reflection – this is a community and certain behavior will not be tolerated for long. The forum tends to self govern for the most part and riders will hash down a post or come to some agreement on their own. Now and then it may end up with the thread being locked – one would hope that would serve as a warning.
I’m sure Alun is willing to hear from anyone banned that they understand that their behavior has been totally unacceptable and an assurance that it will not become an issue again in the future. Perhaps a revaluation may then take place and something can be salvaged. ABR never wants to loose members and a ban is never done on a whim but the reputation of ABR should and will be respected and protected.

This forum is a community of adults and certain standards are not only expected, it is protected, for the enjoyment of all not just the individual.

James, you hit the nail on the head there, it's a forum for ADULTS, I think some forget they are adults sometimes.
I hope things calm down and we can get back to being an informative friendly forum again.
