Touring lid

Post by Kenbo »

Been looking around for several weeks now for a Touring lid but can hardly find one in the shops they all seam to be sports bike lids or motocross.

Only seen one Shoie lid in Couper Bikes. I know there are other brands on the market and I dont want to buy from the net as I want to get fitted properly.

So where do you get a proper lid from? even if I have to travel to get good one

Cheers

What do you mean by 'touring lid' ?
You either get full face, open face, or flip helmets.

I think he mean's one like Ewen and Charlie wore. A hybrid between motocross and full face, so has a sticky out nose and peak, but also a visor.

Maybe try a BMW dealership?

Ah right....
The only makes of those i've seen are either by Shoei or Arai. I've no idea what they are like as those makes are too expensive for my tastes.

After yrs of cheap helmets the local dealer introduced me to the Schuberth. Quietest helmet I've ever owned. Pricey yes, but quality.
Half breed motocross helmet? Not for me, the wind would catch that peak and set my neck! LOL!

The hjc is-multi £170 and can change into several helmet types. Been happy with mine in White - mainly use it with the peak and chin guard.

But the best advice is to get to a helmet shop and try many , and wander around the shop for 10 minutes to check for fitment. (I felt like a plonker, but best to check before handing over the cash)
