Just checked local forecast for the next ten days--rain or showers every day, so the campsite is not about to dry out any day soon.

shame the field is flooded but not suprising as we had 1 months rain here yesterday..If enough are still interested but its going to be very wet and muddy..think glastonbury but better :woohoo: I can do some salisbury plain stuff [gravel] and a few trails etc ..

still on the saturday as per original meet..most if not all the campsites around wiltshire etc are closed due to flooding..so either a cheep b and b or maybe someone can suggest otherwsie..

oh bugger, jim im gutted for you mate you and herman and the others go to a lot of effort. I know we are supposed to be 'adventure' bike riders but i draw the line at underwater camping!
It will happen again, dont worry about it. Winter camp again?

Jerry and anyone else who still wants to come out, im up for a ride on the saturday or sunday still, no idea where though, many of the roads around there are shut too. 'rain stops play'

Thanks Dave, its a real shame but lets not give up hope. I'm thinking if the summer does appear or even a short dry spell to get the water levels down, we will be able to set a new date for the SCS and/or the winter camp.

Thanks to all ride out leaders also Herman for hording a wood pile. Lets hope we get to burn it soon

That's a real pity especially after all the hard work everyone's put in.
I'm tempted to still make a weekend of it (as SWMBO gave me a pass) and try this campsite near Stonehenge.

near Amesbury, although I've not been able to find out if they're flooded too. They do group booking, campfires and have had bike rallies in the past, might be one to remember.

Thats bad news. Will now look forward to SCS 2
