Re: 2021 CRF300L Travel Bike, 17/19 TL + 21TL
Not really, considering the mileage and use.
• Scuffs on the handguards, mostly from wheeling into hotel lobbies.
• I see a scratch on the LHS gold bit of fork, probably from ferry / moving around tight spots?
• I slid off once at 15kph; rear indicator pulled out; put back in. Tankside Lomo bags did their job.
• Light scuffs/wear from months where tankbag base sat on the Acerbis; tailbag on the tailrack and cheapo Lomos against the rad bars.
• Tape residue where I removed tape on the tank side panels to protect from tankbag straps.
• I notice on the RHS a few mm of worn-through frame paint by my boot where I did not tape.
• Brake light bulb element failed - since fixed. (Dodgy tail tidy wiring installation by previous owner?)
• Front brake light switch failed. Have a new one to be be installed at a full service, filters and re-lube in a couple of weeks when I get back here.
• There will be desert dust in the nooks and crannies.
Rear Mitas E07 and oil/filter at 10,400km. Front Mitas about 13,000km (whatever they are in miles).

Hi Chris
Can I ask why the change in wheel sizes and do you have the original wheels, secondly
when would the bike be available in the UK.
Many thanks
Andy
ps love the pics of Morocco

Re: 2021 CRF300L Travel Bike, 17/19 TL + 21TL
Hi Andy, sorry for slow reply; I never get notifications from ABR despite ticking the box.
My priority was to convert to tubeless, but as the stock rear 18 rim didn't have the necessary 'safety lips', I needed a new rim so thought I may as well try a 17 (lower bike; better TL tyre choice).
Same on the front: new TL rim needed + I'm a big believer that a 19er is the best do-it-all size for my sort of riding as I'm not racing on the dirt and some mountain roads in Morocco's add up to 100s of bends/day. You may know that John M from Rally Raid (currently TETing in the Balkans) and Jenny M (in US) – both intrepid/experienced riders – run their 300s 17/19.
But I got a new SM Pro 21 rim also made up on a new hub, as I planned to compare.
Slightly wider, it's unused and fitted with a new AX41 Bridgestone.
That's included. The original rear 18 was sold.
So the bike can get returned to 17/21 which is close enough to stock.
And if you find it too low, the OEM link can be refitted and forks dropped in 15 mins, although on the current oversized Mitas it's high enough.
I won't be back in Dorset till early May at which point I'll pre-arrange a service at the LBS and may as well get a premature MoT done too.
I'll get the new air filter fitted as well as the EBCs and supply the part-worn front pads.
